I’m planning on buying a Williams Allegro keyboard, which is 88-keys and said to be very similiar to a piano. I don’t know how to play just yet and I’m planning on taking lessons. I live in apartments so I can’t have a actual piano so I was wondering would learning to play on a keyboard be the same as a piano?

I really like mendelssohn’s piano concertos i listen to them all the time. I would really love to play some of his pieces, how long until i would be able to play? This is still my first year of playing. Lets say if you were dedicated how long would it take to get up to this level? Just wondering thank you.

If I started playing piano next week, had a lesson every week, and practiced everyday, how long would it take until I’d be able to comfortably play it? I know there’s no way to actually measure the time since it varies, but just an approximate time.

I’ve been playing piano for seven years, and I have to say, I’m pretty darn good. Will it be easier to play guitar now than If I had started playing guitar with no musical experience whatsoever? I also heard that people that play piano can’t play the guitar well.

I am planning on playing the piano and singing at my eigth grade promotion. I want the song to be about “I had fun, wish me luck!” sort of thing. Obviously I’m in eigth grade and promotion is pretty far away but I want time to learn and perfect it. It doesn’t matter about the difficulty of the piece. I have been playing piano for a little over a year now, and play really well by ear, but when it comes to playing from sheet music, I can’t keep my eyes just on the music. I have to constantly look down to find where my fingers are and then I lose my place. Is there a trick to being able to jump around over the keys and not getting lost? Or is it just a lot of practice?
